ANGELSHARK ACTION PLAN FOR THE CANARY ISLANDS
The Angelshark population has drastically declined due to intense fishing, especially in the Northeast Atlantic and Mediterranean regions. The Canary Islands are currently the only place where these sharks can be commonly seen. In 2016, a collaborative effort led to the creation of the Angelshark Action Plan for the Canary Islands, aiming to protect and increase their numbers. This plan is now central to conservation efforts for Angelsharks in the region.
