Nick Baker

Nick Baker, a well-known wildlife presenter, has a deep curiosity for ocean life. He recalls discovering shark eggcases, known as ‘mermaid’s purses’, during his childhood beachcombing. This experience sparked his interest in understanding the various sharks and rays in local waters. The Shark Trust uses these eggcases to track shark populations, helping to identify which species are breeding and where. Participating in the Great Eggcase Hunt allows individuals to contribute valuable data without needing to dive into the water.
